Good evening, distinguished doctors, esteemed guests, and most importantly, the future of healthcare, our aspiring doctors – it is with immense honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before you today to mark the inauguration ofthe 5th Annual Conference of ASM (ASMCON) along with 19th Conference of North East Chapter of Indian Association of Paediatrics Surgeon (NEIAPSCON) as Chief Guest.
As we gather in this occasion, let us remember the profound privilege that comes with the noble profession of surgery, a calling that allows us to not only heal bodies but also touch lives in the most profound ways.
Today, as we look towards a landscape marked by advancements in technology and complex health challenges, the role of a doctor remains paramount. It is the doctor who provides comfort in moments of fear, who offers hope when all seems lost, and who stands as a beacon of knowledge and compassion in the face of adversity.
Beyond technical expertise, the true essence of a doctor lies in the unwavering commitment to ethical practice, empathy, and a genuine desire to understand the individual needs of each patient. Let us always strive to listen attentively, to communicate clearly, and to treat every patient with dignity and respect.
We must acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead, including the growing burden of chronic diseases, emerging infectious outbreaks, and disparities in access to quality healthcare. However, it is precisely in these moments that the true spirit of a doctor shines brightest, by innovating, collaborating, and advocating for the well-being of our communities.
I urge you to embrace lifelong learning, to be pioneers in your field, and to never lose sight of the human element in healthcare. Be the change you wish to see in the world, and use your knowledge to not only cure diseases but to prevent them.
Surgeons of have actively taken part in health care delivery to the people. .As we all know, Civil Hospital started functioning since 1836. Then, the first surgeon, Dr KK Dey was appointed in the year 1971 after 85 (eighty-five) years of its establishment.And then the first surgeon of Mizo, Dr R. Tlangkunga replaced him from February, 1972. Now a day, we have a number of surgeons in Mizoram.
Therefore, I am proud to highlight The Association of Surgeons of Mizoram (ASM) was formed as a state unit of the North- East Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India (NECASI), with the motto of promoting, dissipating, sharing of scientific knowledge and recent developments in various surgical.
And I appreciate your activities like; Organizing Annual conferences to share your knowledge and update yourselves, Free surgical camps and workshops, Educational and public awareness talk shows in different media, etc.
As we embark on this journey, let us be inspired by the countless stories of medical heroes who have come before us. With unwavering dedication and a deep commitment to our patients, we can build a healthier future for generations to come.
