The Indian Constitution is the guiding light for all citizens of India, regardless of gender, religion, caste or place of birth. It embodies the ideals and values that our forefathers envisioned for the unity and integrity of our great nation. As such, I invite each and every one of you to remind ourselves of the spirit of the Constitution and uphold the essential principles it teaches – justice, liberty, equality and fraternity.
The success of the Indian Constitution is reflected in the great advancements of Bharat, as we have made incredible strides in various fields and sectors. Having started out as a post-colonial nation in 1947, we are now one of the biggest economies in the world and have achievements worth noting for any country. Despite the challenges and problems of poverty, inequality, discrimination and underdevelopment, India has risen above and tackled these challenges with intent and purpose, relying on the foundation of constitutional values, and we as a nation have persevered and survived, making the Indian Constitution one of the most enduring constitutions in the world.
