Aizawl, the 29th October 2020 : Student leaders of Mizo Students’ Union (MSU) met Information & Public Relations Minister Pu Lalruatkima in this office today afternoon. The student leaders apprised the Minister of their recent visit to the Tripura border and presented their views on the border issue and their stand on the matter.

The student leaders voiced their concerns on the border issue and stated that the Government must improve connectivity with Tripura and Manipur for transport of goods in view of the current situation and also with the neighbouring countries of Myanmar and Bangladesh. The Minister pointed that the border issue with Assam needs to be resolved amicably and expressed his gratitude to NGOs for their stand and support on this matter. On this occasion, the Minister, who also holds the Rural Development Department portfolio, apprised the student leaders of recent developments with respect to MGNREGS and said that till now 74 days of work had been provided and another 7 days each in November and December will be provided.
