Dated Khawzawl, the 27th March, 2021:District Election Office, Khawzawl this morning organised Voters Awareness Mini-Marathon called 'Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Mini-Marathon Race' at Khawzawl Town, which was flagged off by the District Election Officer & Deputy Commissioner Pu Zothanmawia, and also gave away cash awards to the winners of the marathon race.

Addressing the gathering, Pu Zothanmawia urged the participants to take utmost priority to enroll and exercise their voting rights bestowed by the Universal Adult Franchise. Active participation in electoral process is the indication of fulfilling citizen's duty and involvement in nurturing the democracy, he added. He also told the enthusiast participants to keep on monitoring their fitnesses and health conditions.

The race was categorized into two groups viz. senior and junior level, witnessing 58 participants actively taking part. Mr. Isak Malsawmtluanga, Hermon locality bagged the first position (Certificate+Rs 5,000/-) immediately followed by Mr. Lalsangpuia, Vengthar locality (Certificate + Rs 3,000/-) and Mr. K. Vanlalthlanawma, Dinthar locality (Certificate + Rs. 2,000/-). Among junior category aged below 14 years, top three participants; K. Lalnunchhana, Vanlalhumhima and Lalhmingmawia, all hailed from Darngawn locality were also given cash awards.
