Observation of Swachh Prerak Day, 2019 and distribution of Swachh Bharat Mission Award, 2019 was organized by the Rural Watsan Division, PHED, Lunglei at the Convention Center on 2nd September, 2019. Smt K.Lalrinzuali, Deputy Commissioner& Chairman, District Water Sanitation Committee, Lunglei graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Er. Ngentluanga,SE, PHED, Lunglei Circle & Vice Chairman District Water Sanitation Committee was the Guest of Honor. The event was attended by Government officials, NGO Leaders and Village Council members of various localities within the District.

The Chief Guest awarded the Top 3 Cleanest Villages in the District with Citation and Cash Awards - 1) Haulawng, Citation + Rs 15,000/- 2) Rawpui, Citation + Rs 10,000/- 3) Thenhlum, Citation + Rs 5,000/- Apart from these awards, consolation prize of Citation + Rs. 2000/- was awarded to 5 other villages ie  Tuipui D, Mamte, Tawpui N II, Thualthu and Bualte. 10 Top Performers in the Watsan Committee were also handed Award/incentive of Citation + Rs.10,000/-  by the DC. Handing over these awards, the Chairman thanked the officials and Village Council leaders for their enthusiastic support towards the cause of Swachh Bharat Mission, while also inviting their continued cooperation for a Cleaner, Greener Lunglei District.
