Launching – cum- Press Briefing of Elector Verification Programme (EVP) is organised by Sangchhin Chinzah, District Election Officer, who is also a Deputy Commissioner of Serchhip at her office chamber today.

Highlighting the important features of the EVP, Smt Sangchhin Chinzah said that the Elector Verification Programme is a new initiative for registration of electors in the E- Roll introduced by the Commission. It gives an elector an opportunity for self- checking in the e- Roll and easier system of modification of their details when necessary. The electors can now access his/her details in the Roll through internet such as; firstly by registering himself in National Voter Service Portal site and then check his details himself and/or even submit modification or any objections application online with uploading all the require photocopy of document. Secondly by downloading Voters Helpline mobile Apps from the Store for the same manner as above. Thirdly by visiting Common Service Centre and fourthly by access through Voters Facilitation Centres which were already established in all Electoral Registration Officer’s Office within the district. Booth Level Officer’s Apps (BLO Apps) are also available for all the BLOs and they are entrusted various important duty to perform in their respective area for this EVP.  The District Election Officers added by answering the question that, the electors cannot print his/her EPIC Card online from the above mentioned access points, their application need to be process through the EROnet as usual and after all verification process are completed, new Epic shall be printed.

In this launching cum press briefing programme, the District Election Officer was accompanied by Pu Vanlalhmachhuana, Election Officer, Pu K. Saitluanga, DIPRO, Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers in the district. Mr. C. Ramengmawia, President, MJA Serchhip and his colleague MJA members, DDK representative, Serchhip Cable TV representatives and election branch officials attend the programme.
