The mounting tension between Jawans of Counter-Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS) in Vairengte and the town comes to end as CIJWS executed swift action upon the request made by the Honorable Governor of Mizoram, Lt.Gen.(rtd) Nirbhay Sharma.
On the 10th of August, 2015, the leadership of Joint Young Mizo Association(YMA) brought forward the deplorable acts of violence commited upon an individual and the public by Col. Ravindra Singh, CIJWS to the notice of the Governor of Mizoram . Sensing the urgency of the situation, the Governor made a phone call on yesterday to Maj.Gen. Vivek Sehgal,Commanding Officer, CIJWS who then swifty facilitated transfer of Col. Ravindra Singh to Guwahati with immediate effect from 10.8.2015. It is reported that Col.
