On the demise of the former President of India Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, His Excellency Lt.Gen.(Rtd.) Nirbhay Sharma, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) issues letter of condolence in his press release today.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, a great soul and affectionately known as the People’s President. In his passing away the country has lost one of its tallest members, a visionary scientist, a true nationalist and a great son of India. This nation will always be grateful to him and shall forever be indebted to his contributions.

On behalf of the people of Mizoram, who have fond memories of his visit to the state in 2005 and 2006, I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May God give all of us the strength to bear this national loss with fortitude.
