Kolasib dated 5th July 2021: ‘Training on Promotion Of Freshwater Aquaculture For The Development Of Fisheries And Livelihood Improvement Of NEH People’ was conducted today at DFDO Training Hall for selected farmers under 'Demonstration in Aquaculture for Carp Culture Project 2020-21'.
This project aims to promote the livelihood of farmers by introducing the rearing of Jayanti Rohu, a more economically profitable breed with scientific inputs from experts of the District Fisheries Development Office.
Inaugurating the program, Chief Guest Dr.H.Lalthlangliana, Deputy Commissioner lauded the District Fisheries Development Office for carrying out the project swiftly amidst the pandemic and urged the beneficiaries to do their part to make the project more successful.
The beneficiaries were presented Pellitizer & Grinder, Lime, Fish feed, Water pump, Nursery drag net and other necessary farming materials. They will also be provided with Jayanti Rohu seed.
