The Lunglei Town Sanitation Task Force, the apex body regarding sanitation matters in the District, had in its earlier meetings dated 27th September, 2019 and 26th February 2020, decided on a gradual phasing out of single use plastics across the District. Member Secretary, Lunglei District Sanitation Task Force, Lunglei DUDO chaired the function. Pi R. Lalhmunmawii, Zobawk was the trainer at this event.
The Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, and The Mizoram Solid Waste Management Bye Laws 2018 are being implemented in a phased manner within Lunglei Town.
