Trainings of teachers and anganwadi workers of schools and anganwadi centres selected for Phase-II of 'Kan Sikul, Kan Huan' (My School, My Farm) project, an initiative of Deputy Commissioner Lawngtlai, Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS, were organised today at all four blocks in Lawngtlai District.

The training for Lawngtlai RD Block was held at Lawngtlai BNRGSK Hall under the chairmanship of Block Development Officer (BDO) Pu Lalremruata Sailo, MCS. He highlighted the success of the project and the importance of the project not only for fighting malnutrition but also for imparting the idea of manual labour and self-sufficiency in students.

Resource persons from departments of Soil, Agriculture, Horticulture and KVK imparted the training with a practical session and manures for use in the school farms were also distributed.

Phase-I of the project was launched on 13th July in 214 institutions within Lawngtlai District. It has been successful so far and it also attracts a nation-wide recognition. 609 numbers of institutions (366 schools and 243 anganwadi centres) are selected for this Phase-II.
