Aizawl, February 12, 2024: A Job Fair/Rozgar Mela was organized today at 2 AR Gajraj Hall, Lakhimpur Battalion, Aizawl, starting at 10:00 AM by the Assam Rifles. Union Minister of Law and Justice, Pu Arjun Ram Meghwal, facilitated the issuance of Appointment Letters to 18 individuals for the positions of Branch Post Master and Asst. Branch Post Master under the Ministry of Communication, Department of Post.

Union Minister of Law and Justice Pu Arjun Ram Meghwal, who attended the Rozgar Mela, said that the Prime Minister's wish is that all jobs are conducted in a transparent, fair and easy manner he expressed his congratulations. He said that new job seekers in India are the reliance of the country and high expectations are placed on them. He said that the government attaches importance to ensuring that merit-based candidates can get jobs fairly. He also reiterated India's aspiration to become a developed nation by 2047 and emphasized the role of various sectors in achieving this goal.

Pu Arjun Ram Meghwal further emphasized the significance of the Post Offices and highlighted initiatives like India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) to expand banking services. He said that Post Office officials should provide training to the newly recruited employees.

Colonel Mukesh Sauhta, Commandant of 2 (Lakhimpur) Battalion, 2 Assam Rifles, welcomed the guests, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the event and highlighted the activities of the Assam Rifles in various government initiatives.

The Rozgar Mela aimed to facilitate employment opportunities and skill development for youth, with a focus on ensuring equal access to opportunities across all states and union territories. Appointment letters are distributed to newly recruited employees. Rozgar Mela was held in 47 states of India today. Appointment letters were issued to more than 1 lakh newly recruited employees in various departments of the Central, State and UT Governments.

Prime Minister Pu Narendra Modi, via video conferencing, addressed the participants and encouraged them to seize the opportunities provided and distributed appointment letters.

In today's Rozgar Mela in Mizoram, 18 individuals were issued Appointment Letters for positions in the Department of Post as Branch Post Masters and Assistant Branch Post Masters, with 10 males and 8 females receiving the appointments.
