Aizawl, the 26thFebruary 2020 :  Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar reached Aizawl this afternoon on her two day maiden visit to the state. Minister of State for Tourism Pu Robert Romawia Royte; Vice Chairman of Health & Family Welfare Board Dr. ZR Thiamsanga, MLA and Dr. BD Chakma, MLA, received her at Lengpui Airport.

 

On arrival at Aizawl, she visited RIPANS, the nursing and paramedical institute funded by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare where she was apprised of institutional development currently underway under an institutional and infrastructural strengthening project of Rs. 480 crores being funded by the Ministry. Under this project, a 100 bedded hospital and introduction of Master’s courses in the Institute is envisaged. 

 

Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar also had a meeting with Chief Minister Zoramthanga this evening. She is scheduled to visit Mamit District tomorrow. On Monday she will visit Zoram Medical College, the state’s lone medical college and also have a meeting with Health Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana.
