Lawngtlai, the 20th November, 2020: District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Lawngtlai and all child care institutions under DCPU Lawngtlai observed the Universal Children's Day 2020, today.

In observance of the Day, DCPU Lawngtlai in collaboration with CWC (Child Welfare Committee) Lawngtlai gave out snacks, fruit juices, fresh fruits and sanitary items like hand towel, hand sanitiser, etc. to children admitted into Covid Care Centre (CCC) of District Hospital Lawngtlai. A total of 13 bags, each with all the items listed, was received by District Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Lawngtlai Dr Zothanpari Chhakchhuak on the children's behalf.

The Day was also observed in all three CCIs under DCPU Lawngtlai, namely Lairam Motherless Home, Lairam Child Adoption Centre and Lawngtlai Observation Home by children and staff of the institutions. Currently, there are 16 children in Lairam Motherless Home, 3 children in Lairam Child Adoption Centre and 1 child in Lawngtlai Observation Home.
