Veterinary, Fishery & Sericulture Board, a Board to spearhead SEDP implementation in Veterinary, Fishery and Sericulture fields, was held at the office chamber of its Chairman, Dr. K.Beichhua, Minister of State today.

At the Board meeting, Pu Lalthangpuia Sailo, member secretary of the Board highlighted issues  concerning the Board discussed during the policy briefing with the Chief Minister on 9th July, 2019. He also informed the Board that Sericulture has also been added to the existing Veterinary & Fishery Board. In order to expedite its functioning, the Board created four sub-committees viz., Finance & Policy Monitoring sub-committee, AH& Vety sub-committee, Fisheries sub-committee and Sericulture sub-committee along with Chairman, Co-chairman, Secretary and members of each new sub-committees. Each sub-committees are allowed to appoint four experts belonging to concerned departments.

The meeting resolved to put their best effort to make Mizoram a self-sustaining state and Finance & Policy Monitoring sub-committee has been tasked to chalk out plans to achieve this purpose.
