Dated Champhai, the 20th April, 2021: The activity called Shramdaan, a voluntary clean-up programme under Jal Shakti Abhiyan 'Catch The Rain' Campaign was held yesterday by the joint collaboration of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Champhai and Govt. Champhai College (GCC), which was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner Pi Maria C.T Zuali, Chairman, District Water and Sanitation Committee at Govt. Champhai College.

In the Shramdaan, the college students participated to clean-up the surrounding and roadside starting from College Campus to DC Office Road, till Falkawn junction.  And also taking this opportunity, the College Eco-Club members, as part of campus planting event organized plantation programme in which 500 saplings of medicinal plant called Hruivankai, procured from State Medicinal Plants Board Mizoram, Directorate of AYUSH, Aizawl were planted inside the campus.  

Catch the Rain Campaign aims to take water conservation at the grass-root level, the campaign will be full of  year long activities spanning from 22nd  March to 30th  November, 2021, involving public rallies, seminars, workshops and multiple Shramdaan.
