Aizawl, the 5th June 2020: Aizawl Battalion under the aegis of 23 Sect Assam Rifles / IGAR (East)conducted a Tree Plantation Drive'on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June 2020 with the theme 'Celebrate Biodiversity'. A massive tree plantation drive was carried out at Battalion Headquarter in Aizawl, Zokhawsang and at all the Company Operating Bases. With the aim to support the cause of green planet and arrest the depleting forest cover, a total of 500 saplings of various varieties have been planted. It was a successful event in which all soldiers along with their families participated. To ensure the survival of the plants , the ownership of the plants is being entrusted to the individuals who planted the trees.
