Lawngtlai, the 22nd March, 2021: Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Lawngtlai Division organised an observance of World Water Day 2021 today at DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai.

The observance was graced by Pu Manghmung Chinzah, Chief Executive Member (CEM), Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC). Sr Executive Engineer Er Netralal Jaisi chaired the function and delivered a keynote address while Sub-Divisional Officer Er T. Mangliandinga gave a powerpoint presentation on importance and management of freshwater resources. Central Young Lai Association (CYLA)'s President Pu HC Vanlalruatpuia also delivered a speech. Water Pledge was taken by the gathering government officials and leaders of NGOs.

World Water Day is an annual United Nations (UN) observance day held on 22nd March since 1993 that highlights the importance of fresh water. This year's theme is "Valuing Water".
