Dated: Mamit, the 11th of March 2026: A meeting of the District Water & Sanitation Mission (DWSM) was held today at the DC Conference Hall, Mamit, under the chiarmanship of Mrs.Carolyn L.B. Khiangte, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Mamit district. During the meeting, the District Technical Unit (DTU) Review Module for Jal Seva Aankalan and the District Improvement Plan based on GP assessments were discussed and members of the DTU were also provided training on the Aankalan assessment process.

On the occasion, Mrs. Carolyn L.B. Khiangte, who chaired the meeting, inaugurated the Jal Mahotsav campaign, which will be observed from 8th March to 22nd March 2026.

Er. Helen Saibuangi, Executive Engineer, PHED Mamit WATSAN Division and Member-Secretary, DWSM, highlighted the activities of the mission including Jal Seva Aankalan, Jal Arpan Diwas, and the establishment of the District Technical Unit (DTU) to assist DWSM in various technical matters along with other initiatives.

As the upcoming World Water day falls on a Sunday, the committee agreed to observe it on the next day ie 23rd March, 2026.

Meanwhile, World Plumbing Day was observed today at the PHED Office, Mamit WATSAN Division, chaired by Er. Helen Saibuangi, Sr. Executive Engineer. During the programme, water distributors and line duty personnel were honoured in recognition of their dedicated service.
