Aizawl, dated 5th March 2025: On the occasion of Chapchar Kut 2025, the Art & Culture Department organized a special event titled ‘Live Demonstration of Traditional Mizo Life’ at Falkawn. The event was inaugurated by Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, Adviser to the Chief Minister. The event aims to highlight the beauty of Mizo culture, with a focus on the traditions and lifestyle of the Mizo people.

Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, Adviser to the Chief Minister, spoke about the importance of preserving and promoting Mizo traditions and the need for collective efforts to protect the Mizo way of life. He emphasized that showcasing Mizo culture in such events helps to instill a sense of pride among the people and encourages others to appreciate and respect their heritage. He also highlighted the role of the Mizo people’s values, such as hospitality, respect for elders, hard work, and kindness, which is a necessity for the progress of the community.

The "Live Demonstration of Mizo Typical Life" event was organized under the guidance of Pi Carol VLMS Dawngkimi, Director of the Art & Culture Department. The event displayed various traditional Mizo settings, including a traditional Mizo houses such as Zawlbuk, Khawnbawl, Pum and displays of various cultural items. There were also presentations of Mizo music and dance, as well as exhibitions of different Mizo traditions, such as Mizo weaving and traditional crafts.

The demonstration featured the participation of government school students from Melriat, Falkawn MHIP, MUP and YMA members. The event will last for two days, March 5th and 6th from 10 AM to 4 PM each day, allowing the public to experience and learn about the Mizo culture. This demonstration is a part of the Chapchar Kut celebration, with a main theme ‘Hawihawmna’.
