Aizawl the 1st June, 2025 : Due to torrential rainfall in the past few days within Aizawl District which resulted in mudflows, landslides, rockfalls and other calamities at various locations within the District, the undersigned hereby deems appropriate to suspend attendance of school-going students for their safety and well being. 

This decision has been arrived at after perusing the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) District-wise Warning for the 2nd of June 2025 (i.e. Monday) and appropriate consultation with relevant stakeholders of Aizawl District Disaster Management Authority (ADDMA). 

Therfore within the authority vested upon me under Sections 30 (2)(v) and 34(m) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, all Heads of School within the Aizawl District are hereby directed to keep their concerned schools closed on 2nd of June, 2025 (i.e. Monday). Non compliance of this direction is a punishable offence under Section 51 (b) of DM Act, 2005.
