Aizawl the 3rd May, 2024: Bawngkawn PS Case No. 134/24 Dt.22.04.2024 u/s 392/427 IPC has been registered on the basis of a written FIR submitted by Alom Hussain of Jirighat, Cachar Assam Ph-9132751781 stating that in the morning of 22.04.2024 at around 3:00 AM, unknown miscreant forcibly entered his truck B/R No. AS11-DC-2787 loaded with gas by breaking the glass of the front passenger's side. The incident occurred while the vehicle was parked along the roadside of Chaltlang Lily Veng. Aizawl with the complainant asleep inside. The perpetrator, armed with a kitchen knife, threatened the complainant before fleeing with a cash Rs. 10,000 - and Realme Xarzo mobile handset bearing SIM No. 9101977760 and IMEI Nos. 867528066998396/ 867528066998388 worth Rs. 13,000/ -; total value of the stolen items amounted to Rs. 23,000/-. ASI Lalmuansanga of Bawngkawn PS took up the investigation of the case.


As a result of diligent efforts and hard work of the case Investigating Officer, ASI Lalmuansanga, and the efficient teamwork of Bawngkawn PS officers and personnel under the supervision of the Officer-in-Charge, the previously unidentified suspect in connection with Bawngkawn PS C/No. 134/24 Dt.22.04.2024 u/s 392427 IPC has been identified as Laltanpuia (24) s/o Lalhmingchuanga of Bawngkawn Brigade. Aizawl and was apprehended on 01.05.2024, at 4:00 PM. Following thorough interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in the instant case, providing detailed information about the sequence of events leading to the offence. Despite earlier apprehensions of three (3) suspects who underwent extensive interrogations, the apprehension of the aforementioned accused was made possible in the evening of Dt. 01.05.2024 aided by CCTV footage analysis from the surrounding areas of the crime scene.


Following several hours of meticulous interrogation, the accused confessed to his role in the offence. Furthermore, the accused, Laltanpuia will be held in custody for the next 48 hours to aid in the retrieval of the stolen handset and money and to confiscate the knife utilized in the commission of the crime. It has been confirmed that the accused has no previous criminal record and is being apprehended for the first time at Bawngkawn Police Station.
