The 10^th Battalion of Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles extended a helping hand to ‘New Life’ Orphanage and Distressed Women’s Home maintained by MHIP at Chanmari West, Aizawl.  The renovation of the building included construction of toilet block, water tanks, fans / lights and verandah for the children to play during monsoons. MLA Mr Lal Thanzara and his wife also graced the small function organized to inaugurate the Orphanage and Distressed Womens Home.

This assistance has been provided as part of Assam Rifles, Military Civic Action (MCA) programme. The renovation and addition of existing building will facilitate and improve the living standards of the poor and deprived women associated with the organisation.
