Staff of the District Hospital Lawngtlai and the Chief Medical Officer's office and faculty and students of ANM School Lawngtlai organised a walkathon in observance of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada (Healthy India Fortnight) and to create public awareness on Kayakalp 2019 today morning.

 

They started out from District Hospital Lawngtlai and walked along the streets of Lawngtlai town chanting various slogans to create awareness to public on cleanliness and health habits.

 

In a short closing function organised at the Areopagy, Dr Zothanpari Chhakchhuak, the in-charge District Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital Lawngtlai addressed the gathering and asked the cooperation of general public to help keep the District Hospital clean in view of the upcoming 'Kayakalp Award 2019' and also beyond the competition.

 

She also mentioned that families in the deprived list of the Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 and the Smart Card holders under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) for the year 2018 can register for AB-PMJAY from which they can claim a medical reimbursement upto Rs 5 lakh per year. She added that golden cards for the same can be applied from District Hospital during this Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada and urged the public to immediately apply for the same.

 

After the speech, students of ANM School Lawngtlai performed a Cheraw dance which was followed by a vote of thanks and the function ended.
