An inaugural function of BBBP Week was held at DC's Conference here at Siaha, yesterday(20.01.2020).

Shri. Malsawmrluanga,Addl.DC graced the function as Chief Guest and released 2020 Calendar and Music Video prepared BBBP Nodal office, Siaha.

Speaking at the Inaugural function, Shri .Malsawmtluanga said that BBBP( Beti Bachao Beti Padhao) was a centrally sponsored scheme which primarily aimed at putting girl child on par with boy child in all respects by various interventions. Siaha district was choosen for the implimentation of BBBP scheme due district's live birth sex ratio and its acute fluctuation during last couple of years.He added that women status in mizo society "is as good as matriachal society and there is no discrimination against girl child in any way". Therefore, implimentation of BBBP scheme at Siaha district could be construe as "a already success one", he guipped. However, he exhorted the gathering audiance to put forth all their efforts towards and utilise in its optimum, all the opportunities brought to them by BBBP scheme for the betterment of their girl childs,

Yesterday's BBBP week inaugural programme was presided over by Smt. B.Malsawmtluangi,SDO(S) & Nodal Officer,BBBP and Shri.VL Zuithanga, Project Coordinator,BBBP gave reports on the various undertakings under BBBP scheme which were already implimented and yet to be implimented in details.

Smt. B.Lalruatpuii, Women Welfare Officer,MSK concluded yesterday's BBBP week inaugural function with a proposal of vote of thanks.
