Aizawl the 13th October, 2021: The second phase of catch the rain campaign, an ambitious project of Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India for rain water conservation is launched yesterday in Champhai District by SE, PHED Champhai WATSAN Circle Pu C.Lalhmachhuana at his Office, New Champhai in the presence of District Youth Officer, NYK Champhai Pu Dinesh Jangid and SDO PHED Champhai Project Sub-Division Pu Vanlalmuanawma.

While launching the campaign, Pu C.Lalhmachhuana stressed that in present global scenerio, due to various reasons including climate change, the time is not far away when extreme water scarcity will be a reality so we need to act fast to ensure safe and clean availability of water for our next generations. He assured his full cooperation for the NYK Champhai's Catch the rain campaign.

Pu Dinesh Jangid, District Youth Officer NYK Champhai said that with help of social media, mass media, and strong network of volunteers and youth clubs, we will reach to every household for making them aware about rain water conservation. He also requested all the stakeholders to come together for this campaign.

Mizoram being mostly dependent on rain water for day day to use is more vulnerable to future water scarcity of drinking water. NYK and PHED will work in synergy for this awareness campaign and make it a very successful campaign.
