Meeting of Champhai District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC/DISHA) was conducted yesterday at DC Conference Hall, Champhai. It was held under the Chairmanship of  Pu C. Lalrosanga, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha,  the meeting reviewed and monitored the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) undertaken by various line departments. It was also attended by Pu T.J. Lalnuntluanga MLA, Champhai South A/C, Dr. Z.R Thiamsanga MLA, Champhai North A/C, Pu Ramthanmawia MLA, East Tuipui A/C and Champhai DC Pi Maria C.T Zuali, among others.

District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Champhai, under 2020-2021 Financial year, MGNREGA  provided 80 days employment to 29,869 job card holders till  November. Under PMAY-G (Rural Housing Scheme),  287 beneficiaries were selected of which 237 have completed the project. Under Jal Jeevan Mission (JMM), 11 villages have been provided with water connection with 4 ongoing works yet to complete. Under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) / Har Khet Ko Pani Scheme, for the first time here in Mizoram 4 Ground Water Irrigation Schemes have been approved which is to commence the next year.

Under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) there are 2782 IGNOAPS beneficiaries, 269 IGNWPS beneficiaries,  76 IGDPS beneficiaries in Undivided Champhai District. During the reporting period IMR was 16.64 a and  MMR was 72.36 a ni.  ART Centre and OST Centre witnessed 1966 and 1030 registration respectively.  Under Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, 20 cases of  Malaria have been detected,  reported the CMO Champhai.

In addition to these, other Central Government sponsored schemes were discussed at length in the meeting. The lone Lok Sabha MP from Mizoram Pu C.Lalrosanga also visited Indo Myanmar border town Zokhawthar, interacted with Village Council members, NGO's and Assam Rifles personnels.
