Aizawl, the 17th January, 2024: Pu Girish Prasad Singh, Chief Engineer of Project Pushpak (Border Roads Organisation) called on Governor of Mizoram Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) this afternoon and briefed him about various ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects in the State of Mizoram. The meeting was aimed to provide an update on the progress of various roads and bridge construction, which are crucial for enhancing connectivity and development in remote and strategically important areas of Mizoram State.
Governor Gen (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) underscored the importance of adopting the latest technologies to ensure rapid and cost effective construction of border roads across the State of Mizoram. He also called for resolving any challenges faced by the projects to ensure their timely completion.
In this meeting, Project Pushpak Chief Engineer delivered a PowerPoint presentation detailing BRO’s progress in the State. Under Project Pushpak Mizoram, 3,150 km of roads have been constructed in Mizoram so far, with 2,392 km already handed over to State and Central agencies. Of the 14 roads currently managed by project pushpak across different parts of Mizoram, 5 have been completed and are being maintained by project pushpak, 4 are almost completed while 5 others are under construction. Efforts are also being made to complete construction of 4 bridges within this year.
