Aizawl, 24 August 2026: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma today chaired the meeting of  Mizoram Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (Mi-PRAGATI) at the Chief Minister's Conference Hall.

The meeting comprehensively reviewed key developmental infrastructure projects currently underway across the state, focusing on project milestones, bottlenecks caused by monsoon conditions, and necessary institutional frameworks for timely completion.

Key infrastructure projects reviewed in the meeting include:

  1. Thenzawl Peace City Master Plan: The preliminary strategies and framework for the Thenzawl Peace City Master Plan, prepared in coordination with the UD&PA Department and IPE Global, were evaluated. The designated planning area covers 85 sq. km across six Village Councils (Thenzawl East, West, South, Kanan, Vengthar, and Buangpui), with 51.81 sq. km (60.95%) identified as developable land. Initial "Early Bird Projects" include a Solid Waste Management System (₹4 Cr), Dilpui Lake Area development (₹8 Cr), and a new Saturday Market (₹3 Cr). An additional ₹23 Cr is earmarked for Lau River Rejuvenation & Flood Mitigation for the old city area.
  2. Thingsulthliah Conference Centre: Progress on the construction of the CYMA Conference Centre at Zawlbuk Ram, Thingsulthliah, sanctioned under the Ministry of Tourism’s Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme at an approved cost of ₹99.71 crore, was reviewed. Executed by PWD under MTDA, the site has achieved 80% hill cutting, 90% entry road cutting, and 100% exit road cutting. Due to heavy monsoon disruptions affecting vehicular movement, time extension considerations were discussed to ensure completion alongside the targeted timeline of March 2028.
  3. Mizo Fiber Grid Network (MFGN): Sanctioned under SASCI Part-V (2022-23) with an outlay of ₹50 crore, the project aims to connect all District Headquarters using 543 km of OPGW and 82 km of ADSS cables. Implemented by ZENICS with RailTel as the contractor and Ernst & Young as consultant, 24 km of OPGW cable stringing has been completed despite challenging jungle terrain and adverse weather, targeting overall completion by December 2026.
  4. MINECO Integrated Office Complex: Sanctioned under SASCI Part-V (2024-25) at a cost of ₹60 crore, civil construction by PWD and Buannel Geo Solution & Services has reached 15% physical progress, with monsoon challenges noted during the review.
  5. Pukzing to Silsury Road (21.00 km Intermediate Lane): Sanctioned under NESIDS (Roads) at ₹100.24 crore (agreement value ₹76.61 crore), the PWD-executed road project has achieved 8.38% physical progress. Matters regarding compensation claims and monsoon-related delays were addressed to keep the scheduled completion date of January 2028 on track.
