Children’s Week which was organised joinly by District Child Protection Unit and  District Legal Services Authority since November 14 came to a conclusion yesterday with a closing programme held at Kahrawt Community Hall. Pi Lalrochami Ralte, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) was the Chief Guest.

Pi Lalrochami Ralte applauded the efforts made by all partakers for a successful celebration of Children’s Week. Accentuating different rights and protection of Children under the law, the CJM said that Children are not allowed to undergo forceful labours, begging and any kinds of abuses, the culprit will be given harsh punishments. She also encouraged the Children to be strong while facing adversities and meditate on their studies to earn a bright future.

The closing programme was mainly designed for Children in need of special care and protection. Pu Lalnunmawia, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) member presided over the programme, wherein the Chief Guest handed over Citation of appreciation to members of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Champhai District. During the Children’s Week Celebration, Street Rally and Children’s Carnival were conducted successfully displaying different themes pertaining to Children’s Rights, Protection and other awareness programmes.
