A training on Soil Health Card Scheme and collection of Soil Sample Technique is organised by Directorate of Agriculture, Crop Husbandry at District Agriculture Office Training Hall, Serchhip today.

The training session is divided into two parts and are presided by Mr. Lalnithanga, DAO, Serchhip. In his introduction and welcome speech to the trainee, he said that having a knowledge of Soil Health Card Scheme and collection of soil sample is not only useful for the department workers but also for the farmers in our state. ‘Let all farmers in Serchhip lend our ears to this important scheme and technique for our  further achievement’ he added. And give his sincere thanks to the directorate of Crop Husbandry for their valuable training held for Serchhip.

In the first session, Pi Lalengzami Haolai, Dy. Director (SS) delivered a speech on the subject of Soil Heath Card Schemes in India and, highlighted its origins, aims and objectives of it. She mentioned that the main objectives are timely issue of Soil Health Card to the farmers, improvement of soil testing laboratory and even a sampling system, achieve better treatment to the (farming) soil, training of department workers and even a farmers to boost agriculture production in our state as well as country.

In the second session, Pi Zodinpuii, Asst. Soil Chemist teach how to collect soil sample, and other important techniques involve in testing and collection of soil in the field.

Training is attended by all officers and technical staff of DAO Serchhip Office, ATMA office and FOCUS office in Serchhip.
