The closing function of Rashtriya Poshan Maah and celebration of Mizoram bagging two Awards in the Poshan Abhiyaan National Awards 2019 was held today at Synod Conference Centre, with Social Welfare Minister Dr. K. Beichhua presiding over the programme as the Chief Guest.

Speaking at the function, Dr. K. Beichhua expressed happiness in the synergy of Poshan Maah activities that were held across various levels. He thanked the other Line Departments for their whole hearted cooperation and support, especially the Health & Family Welfare Department. Congratulating the Department for bagging two Awards in the Poshan Abhiyaan Awards, he said that the credit goes to the excellent team work of Department functionaries and grassroots Aganwadi workers and also to the inter-Departmental cooperation and support from other Line Departments.

Mizoram had bagged two Awards in the Poshan Abhiyaan Awards 2019 – 1^st Position in Overall Excellence in Implementation, which carried a cash award of rupees 1.5 crores and  1^st Position in ICDS CAS Implementation Award which carried a cash award of rupees 1 crore. Champhai District received Best District award while Thingdawl ICDS Project bagged Best Block Award. Anganwadi workers from Champhai ICDS Project, Vengthlang Anganwadi Center-3 and Thingdawl ICDS Project, Bualpui Anganwadi Center also received - Best Anganwadi Worker, Best Anganwadi Helper, Best ASHA, Best ANM & Best LS (AAAA & LS) Awards as well.
