Ten military delegates from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar who are currently travelling on a Diplomatic Outreach programme to study the federalism system of India met with the Chief Minister of Mizoram Mr. Zoramthanga at his residence yesterday's evening.

Lt. General Aung Lin Dwe, Office of the Judge Advocate General who headed the Myanmar military delegates and the Chief Minister discussed various issues pertaining to inter-border trade and mutual desire to strengthen relations between the two countries. The delegates also expressed their admiration for Mizoram's peace process, which has transformed itself from a very troubled state into one of the most peaceful state of India, and their wish to similarly achieve sustained peace in their own country.

Apart from Lt. General Aung Lin Dwe, the Myanmar military delegates include Maj. General Soe Naing Oo, Maj. General Than Hlut Thein, Colonel Khin Maung Kyi, Colonel Kyaw Soe Oo, Colonel Kyaw Lin Maung, Lt. Colonel Than Soe, Lt. Colonel Khin Zaw and Captain Thet Zin Aung, representing various branches of the military. They will depart Mizoram today.
