Lawngtlai, 13th May 2026: In accordance with the direction of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India at Para 4 of the Order dated 05.05.2026 in regards to Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. The Deputy Commissioner has Constituted Special Cell at Lawngtlai District.

NOTIFICATION

No.A.48012/6/2026-DC(LTI): In accordance with the direction of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India at Para 4 of the Order dated 05.05.2026 in regards to Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. The Deputy Commissioner is pleased to Constitute Special Cell at Lawngtlai District as indicated below with the following composition with immediate effect and until further orders.

Special Cell at Lawngtlai District

Chairman : Additional DC

Members : i. Project Director, DRDO

ii. Executive Engineer, PHED

iii. District Project Officer, UD&PA Deputy

iv. Representative of MPCB (to be deputed by MPCB)

The Special Cell shall be responsible to not only oversee the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026 but in given circumstances to issue direction for the stoppage of water / electricity to bulk waste generators of solid waste who disobey the direction or disregards the Rules.
