Aizawl the 17th June, 2022 : Whereas, due to incessant rainfall in the District and the State as a whole in the last few weeks, various road connectivity has been severely affected due to landside, rock fall and mudslide that may prove denagerous and fatal to human life and livestock.

 

And WHEREAS, due to heavy discharge of water from adjoining hill slopes, the portion of the NH-6 road at chainange 128+450 Lumshnong village (near Toll Palza) has collapse and hence rendering movement of any vehicle unsafe.

 

Therefore, in order to take such other steps as may be rewuired or warranted to be taken in such a situation to prevent any disaster and ensure safety of the commuters travelling, Shri.A.Baranwal IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District in exercise of the power and functions under senction 34 (b) and 34 (m) of Disaster Mangement Act 2005 hereby regulates the traffic arrangements/regulation as below :

 

1. Only Light Motor Vehicles (less than 3 MT) are allowed to ply via Brichymot – Lumshnong (Star Cement) Road.

 

2. Heavy Vehicles are prohibited to ply through the Road mention at Sl.No. 1

 

3. Any urgent essential commodities required to be transport to other state via this route are to exchange the goods with the light commercial vehicles at the junctions (to be notified separately) of the diversion road, if necessary

 

4. Heavy Vehicles will be permitted to ply only afther the restoration work has been completed

 

In view of the urgency of the matter this order is been passed ex-parte and shall come into force with immediate effect and until further Orders.
