With growing positive cases of COVID-19 in neighbouring state of Tripura, vigil along the border has been stepped up. The Langkaih bridge on the Mizoram-Tripura and the Medili bridge on the Mizoram-Assam border were sprayed with Sodium Hypocloride to fight coronavirus.
The Chief Medical Officer, (CMO) Mamit Dr Vanlalfela alongwith medical team yesterday visited Kanhmun Village, which shares borders with both states of Tripura and Assam. Under the CMO's supervision, the Langkaih Bridge Gate with Tripura, the Assam Medili Bridge and all surrounding areas were sprayed with disinfectant.
The Medical officials and village leaders also discussed how to enhance precautionary measures in the area and selected 120 persons from the village to help guard the borders. Strict surveillance and vigil has been ceaselessly carried on at Kanhmun since total lockdown had been started in the state.
