Lunglei, the 13th April, 2021: Lunglei District and Hnahthial District yesterday convened District Level Task Force on Covid-19 meetings at their respective DC Conference Halls. Measures to mitigate and contain the spread of Covid-19 were discussed in the meetings, with detailed plans of action being chalked out, and responsibilities distributed among the Task Force members.

Lunglei District:

Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Sazaikawn was identified as the new Dedicated COVID Health Center (DCHC) for Lunglei District, while SIRD Pukpui was designated to be used as a Covid Care Centre (CCC). Tourist Lodge, Zotlang and DIET, Melte were also designated as Quarantine Centers.

Lunglei CMO Dr LC Liana gave a report on testing and vaccination status for the District. There have been 421 (male – 380, female - 41) Covid-19 positive cases in Lunglei District, with 3 active cases at present. The District has tested 16,377 samples till date.

Vaccination Status for the District till 10/04/2021 is as below:

Hnahthial District:

There have been 23 Covid-19 positive cases in Hnahthial District, with 2 active cases at present. The District has tested 2296 samples till date. Vaccine has been given out to 1018 individuals till date. KVK Farmer's Hostel was identified as Covid Care Centre (CCC) while Govt Hnahthial College Boys Hostel was identified as Quarantine Centre for the District.
