Dated: Aizawl the 7th of June, 2024: The National Level Continuing Nursing Education Programme was inaugurated today by College of Nursing, RIPANS where the key note address was given by Dr Vanlalthlana, Minister of Higher and Technical Education. The topic for the training programme is “Leading with vision: Strategies for Effective Leadership in Nursing”.

The Minister addressed the relevancy and crucial need of having an effective leadership in nursing as he believes that nurses are the backbone of the healthcare system providing essential care and support to patients. He spoke about the importance of adopting visionary thinking with achievable goals for the welfare of the patients as their satisfaction is crucial for a positive work environment. At today’s programme, Dr Vanlalthlana stressed on the need to lead with empathy to build a strong and supportive team which will foster trust and cooperation at the workplace. As learning is a lifelong process, the Minister believes that it is vital to continuously update one’s knowledge and skills and also mentor others to foster a culture of growth.  In line of todays’ theme, Dr Vanlalthlana addressed the need to have an effective communication which must trickle down to all levels to build a cohesive team. He encouraged the participants of the programme to embrace their role with confidence and dedication and continue to inspire others towards a better future.

At today’s national level training programme Dr Deepika Cecil Khakha, Nursing adviser and Miss Achala, Assistant Director General, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India were among the officials who were present. 

The programme was organised by the final year Msc nursing students under the guidance of Dr Sanjay Dinkar Sawant, Director, RIPANS and Prof Lalfamkimi, Principal, College of Nursing, RIPANS.
