Champhai, the 5th April, 2024: General Observer for 1-Mizoram (ST) Parliamentary Constituency Dr. Nipun Vinayak, IAS who is currently in Champhai District to inspect preparations for Lok Sabha Election, today visited border village Zokhawthar.

General Observer Dr. Nipun Vinayak, who met Zokhawthar community leaders, explained the importance of border villages for a peaceful, fair and transparent elections. He asked them to fully co-operate the election officials in order to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.

During his visit, Dr. Nipun Vinayak inspected polling stations, including 24/20 Mualkawi Polling Station (Government Primary School, Mualkawi) and 24/23 Zokhawthar II Polling Station (Zokhawthar Secondary School) and emphasized on the provision of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) such as water supply, power, communication signals, wheelchair ramps, toilets and other facilities to ensure smooth conduct of elections.

Additionally, Dr. Nipun Vinayak also visited the Assam Rifles COB and Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Zokhawthar. He was accompanied by  District Election Officer Pu James Lalrinchhana, SP Pu Vineet Kumar and other election officials.
