Aizawl, the 26th September 2023 : Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), organized an investiture ceremony at the Circular Lawn, Raj Bhavan, today. In this function, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati felicitated the 23 Jawans selected for their exceptional performance while on duties with Governor's Gold and Silver Medals.

In his felicitation address, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati lauded the efforts of the recipients for their exemplary achievements while carrying out their duties. He thanked these brave soldiers for their dedication to their duties. He believed that the officers and all ranks of the Assam Rifles were doing an excellent job for the maintenance of security in the region as well as helping the state machinery in their fight against drug trafficking and illegal trade activities. He also emphasized the need to maintain a strict vigil owing to the upcoming assembly elections.

The Investiture ceremony was attended by Dr Renu Sharma, Chief Secretary, Mizoram, Mr Anil Shukla, DGP, Mizoram Police, Major General Vinod Kumar Nambiar, YSM, SM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), Brigadier Girish Upadhya, SM, VSM, DIG, 23 Sector Assam Rifles and various dignitaries from Civil and Assam Rifles.
