Aizawl, the 11th November 2021: Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati participated and presented the state report of Mizoram in the Governors & Lt Governors' Conference 2021 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, today. The conference commenced with the welcome address from Home Minister Amit Shah.

This was followed by a speech from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a speech by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and an address by President Ram Nath Kovind. During this important event, all the governors and Lt Governors of the states and UTs presented their reports. The Governors and Lt Governors were also briefed on the topic, " Best Practices at Raj Bhavan", followed by lively interactions.

In his state report, Governor Hari Babu emphasized how the response to Covid-19 in Mizoram has been unique compared to other states. He informed the gatherings that the Local/Village Level Task Forces have been formed, incorporating Local/Village Councils (statutory bodies), NGOs and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs). And also enlightened the august gatherings that the religious bodies have played leading roles in augmenting the collective efforts.

On vaccination, he referred to the update of 25.10.2021 wherein 5,00,702 have been fully vaccinated, while 7,07,294 have received the first dose. He had informed the audience about the USD 40 million World Bank Project on ‘Mizoram Health Systems Strengthening Project’ signed between the state government and the World Bank on June 17, 2021. Governor Hari Babu also reported that tensions have been defused along the Mizoram-Assam border where there were few incidents. Among other important initiatives he had presented Governor Haribabu also included a progress report on the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP), Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) and the State Government’s flagship Socio-Economic Development Policy (SEDP).
