The Governor of Mizoram Lt. General (Rtd) M.M. Lakhera, PVSM, AVSM, VSM today inaugurates a one day seminar on "Driving the People of Mizoram to Self-employment" organised by Indian Council of Small Industries (ICSI) in collaboration with the Dept. of  Extention Education & Rural Development, Mizoram University and Mizoram Entrepreneurship Network at the Conference Hall of Mizoram University, Aizawl.

Speaking on the occassion, the Governor emphasize the need for guiding the large young educated population of Mizoram to self employment since it is impossible to create jobs for everyone in government offices. He said that the present situation in the State requires synergy between the government and the various educational and social institutions  to address the need of the people. The Governor urged the people of Mizoram to make the best use of their resources, encourage one another to bring out the best in each other and to make plans and execute them with sincerity, hardwork and honesty.

The inauguration function was presided over by Prof. K.K. Sarkar, Secretary General of the Indian Council of Small Industries (ICSI) while Prof. A.N. Rai, Vice Chancellor Mizoram University, Shri Benjamina, Registrar, Mizoram University and Dr. Ajeya Jha, HOD Management Studies, Sikkim Manipal Technology, Sikkim were the Guests of Honour for this occassion.

The technical section of the seminar includes papers presented by Prof. Lianzela, Department of Economics, Mizoram University, Dr. Ajeya Jha, HOD Management Studies, Sikkim Manipal Technology, Sikkim, Mr. R.K Dhamija, Director, KVIC, Mizoram, Mr Lalzabiaka, Dy. Director Industries Dept., Govt. of Mizoram, Mr D.S. Kambhre, Assistant Director, MSME- Development Institute, Mizoram, Mr. Joseph L. Ralte, Mizoram Entrepreneurship Network and Prof. K.K. Sarkar, Secretary General ICSI.
