Governor of Mizoram, Lt. Gen. Nirbhay Sharma, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), flagged off the Cycle Expedition Rally organized by Assam Rifles as a part of its ‘182 Raising Day Celebration’ from Headquarters of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, Khatla, Aizawl today.

At the flagging off ceremony, Governor of Mizoram thanked Assam Rifles for organizing a Cycle Expedition Rally to spread the message of ‘Peace, Unity and Swatch Bharat’ throughout the North East India, a beautiful country side endowed with rich flora and fauna, inhabited by several indigenous communities.

The Rally will end at Shillong on 20th march 2016 after cycling approximately 743 Km, starting from mountainous region of Mizoram through the plains of Assam and to the foothills of Meghalaya.

The Cycle Expedition Rally team consists of 9 jawans from 39 Assam Rifles led by Captain Tushar Mehlawat.

Head Quarters Director General Assam Rifles is planning to organize Cycle Expeditions from various states also.
