Lunglei, Dated 16th March 2021: Higher & Technical Education (H&TE) Minister, Dr R. Lalthangliana yesterday inaugurated two education infrastructures at Lunglei town – a new library building at Lunglei Government College costing 131 lakhs (RUSA 2.0 – 100 lakhs & SEDP Funding – 31 lakhs), and a Multipurpose Hall at Government J Buana College costing 74 lakhs (RUSA 2.0.) Skyridge Construction & Consultancy Services, Aizawl, constructed both structures.

Speaking at these inaugurations, the H&TE Minister congratulated both colleges for augmenting their infrastructure through RUSA 2.0, and expressed hope that the newly added facilities would enhance the quality of learning for students in both colleges. The Minister, himself a retired College lecturer, extended his greetings to the teaching fraternity, and vowed to work in earnest for their welfare, as well as pushing for further infrastructure developments in schools and colleges across Mizoram, which he pointed out, was the need of the hour. Stating that accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is a crucial element in qualifying for RUSA funding, he reminded the college authorities to continually evaluate themselves, and work towards improving on the different quality parameters under NAAC. He also urged the students to strive towards excellence in their chosen field, while also focusing on developing skills that are ‘employable’. The Minister also shared anecdotes from his student days, much to the delight of the audience.
