Aizawl, 15th March,2021 : Mizoram Rajya Sabha M.P K.Vanlalvena called on Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Chairman, Rajya Sabha and Vice President of India today at his official residence and calls for the central government’s intervention for restoration of peace in the trouble torn Myanmar, and to provide relief measures for Myanmar nationals who crossed international border to take shelter in Mizoram following gross atrocities committed against protesters who stand up for democracy, human rights and justice since the military junta took control of the Myanmar government.
During his meeting with the Vice President, Vanlalvena was accompanied by MNF party Adviser Rosangzuala. Both raised their concern that situation in Myanmar could go from bad to worse. While many protesters have lost their lives and many more suffer injuries, a large number of protesters are arbitrarily arrested and detained. In view of the grim situation, Vanlalvena urged the central government to stand up for the people of Myanmar and review its foreign policy towards Myanmar and try to find solution for the restoration of peace and harmony in the country.
While raising internatioanl issues, Vanlalvena also asked the Vice Prsident to take necessary measures for induction of a member from Mizo community in the Union Public Service Commission and to create a separate cadre for Mizoram in All India Civl Service saying, 35 years since statehood is a period long enough for Mizoram to share the AGMUT cadre. He also raised the need to open an examination centre in Aizawl for Staff Selection Commission.
