Hnahthial District Disaster Management Authority monitored and visited various sites brought about by heavy rainfall

Dated Hnahthial, the 31st May, 2025: Due to the heavy outburst of rain experienced by Hnahthial District, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) closely monitored the various damages occurring within the district and despatched the Quick Response Team (QRT) where required.

The Chief Executive Officer of DDMA, Pu Zothanmawia Khiangte as well as the Sub-Deluty Commissioner, Pu R.Vanlalruata conducted a site visit on the areas where disaster struck, handing out necessary items, bringing about much needed relief for the disaster struck families.

Various places within Hnahthial District experienced landslides as well as land cracks which caused a few buildings to be evacuated. Some buildings sustained structural damage while some were dismantled.

Combined efforts of the District Disaster Management Authority, Village Level Disaster Management Committee, PWD, QRT as well as various NGOs allowed for quick response and recovery.
