Aizawl, the 2nd November 2020 : The Home Department in a WT message, this evening requested the Home Commissioner/Secretary, Government of Assam to ensure the safety and security of Mizo communities living within Assam; the safety and security of Mizoram House at Silchar including the stranded oil tankers and LPG trucks and also of various Mission Compounds within Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj Districts in order to prevent any retaliatory attacks by vested parties and anti-social elements within Assam especially on the inter-state border on the issue of the unfortunate death of a resident of Lailapur, at Vairengte, this morning.

 The Home Secretary earlier in the evening sent a letter to her  counterpart in the Government of Assam where she outlined the turn of events yesterday and today at Vairengte, with reference to the unfortunate incident which resulted in the demise of Shri Intyaz Ali, a resident of Lailapur, Cachar District at Vairengte this morning.
