Aizawl, 1st October 2024: Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Aizawl, and College of Veterinary Science (VSc) & Animal Husbandry (AH), Central Agricultural University (CAU)(I), Selesih, today, at 1:30 pm.

The Hon’ble Governor was warmly welcomed by Dr. Lalnuntluangi Hmar, Dean, College of VSc & AH, CAU(I), Selesih, and officials of the Institution.  Governor firstly interacted with faculty members and staff of the KVK along with farmers of the Selesih village at the KVK conference hall. During the interaction, the Governor urged faculty members to diligently pursue their ongoing initiatives and future plans for the progress of Mizoram's farmers. He also advised farmers present to adopt improved farming practices, increase productivity, and seek guidance from KVK experts to enhance their yields. Furthermore, he encouraged farmers to participate extensively in training programs to improve their skills in cultivating and rearing livestock. He also instructed KVK officials to provide more comprehensive training for farmers, livestock owners, and entrepreneurs.

After interaction session was over, the Governor then toured KVK's demonstration farms and inspected facilities like the soil testing laboratory, vermi-compost unit, fish pond and greenhouses. Afterwards, he visited the College of VSc & AH farm and examined the livestock units, including cattle Shed, Piggery, Poultry, Sheep and Goat unit, and interacted with officials from the Department of Livestock Production Management.
