Aizawl the 31st May, 2022 : As a part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate the 75th year of Indian Independence, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of about sixteen schemes/Progammes spanning nineMinistries/Departments of the Government of India, at Shimla, today. The programme which was broadcast live throughout the country was also witnessed by the Chief Minister of Mizoram Pu Zoramthanga from his office in Aizawl. Simultaneously, a solemn event was organized at the State Capital Aizawl at Vanapa Hall, where the Legislative Assembly Speaker Pu Lalrinliana Sailo graced the programme as Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest in his address, praised the efforts put in by the government servants for taking up the mammoth task of implementing various schemes and programmes designed for the upliftment of the people throughout the state of Mizoram. He stressed upon the importance of people and government partnership, devotion and dedication by each stakeholder to bring about tangible change and growth in the livelihood of the common people.

The Sammelan held today is one of the largest ever single-event nationwide interaction spanning all districts, wherein the Hon'ble Prime Minister interacted with beneficiaries about the impact that the wide-ranging schemes/programmes covering housing, availability of potable water, food,health and nutrition, livelihood and financial inclusion etc., have had on their lives. These schemes/ programmes are:

(i) Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (bothGrameen & Urban) 

(ii) Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi 

(iii) Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 

(iv) POSHAN Abhiyan 

(v) Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana 

(vi) Swachh Bharat Mission (both Grameen& Urban) 

(vii) Jal jeevan Mission & AMRUT 

(viii) Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Scheme 

(ix) One Nation One Ration Card 

(x) Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan AnnaYojana 

(xi) Ayushman Bharat PM Jan Arogya Yojana  

(xii) Ayushman Bharat Health and WellnessCentre Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana

The Aizawl DC office took up the responsibility of organizing the august event in Aizawl which was attended by dignitaries such as the Planning Board Vice Chairman Pu H.Rammawi, Deputy Speaker Er.Lalrinawma, MLAs, Mavor, Deputy Mayor, Executive Councillors and Directors of Nodal Departments of the Schemes and representatives of various NGOs. The national Sammelan was telecast live through Doordarshan in its national and regional channels. It was also given out live through MyGov and other social media channels viz., YouTube,Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
