Aizawl, the 6th November 2021: In connection with the Pan India Legal Awareness Programme (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, Judge, Supreme Court & Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority(NALSA) arrived at the state capital yesterday evening. He then proceeded to witness the closing part of the Programme on Cleanliness Drive-cum-Legal Awareness Campaign as the Chief Guest at Convention Hall, Reiek Village, a scenic location, known for its effort in the cleanliness drive, 29 Km away from Aizawl City.

After unveiling the plaque to commemorate the occasion, he had briefly addressed the gatherings. Justice Uday Umesh Lalit revealed he is impressed on his maiden visit by witnessing the cleanliness of the place, the warmth on the face of people and simplicity. He believed that Mizoram can improve further on this front. What makes him even more satisfied seemed to be how people in Mizoram utilized the free legal services offered by the Mizoram State Legal Services Authority(MSLSA). He was also hoping that the MSLSA  would continue to support those in need of legal services to assure access to justice for all.

Justice Uday Umesh Lalit was accompanied by Mr. Ashok Kumar Jain, Member Secretary, National Legal Services Authority and Mr. Puneet Sehgal, Director, National Legal Services Authority. Justice Michael Zothankhuma, Judge, Gauhati High Court & Executive Chairman, MSLSA and Justice Nelson Sailo, Judge, Gauhati High Court also attended the event. Today, they will again be attending another function of the same campaign at Rawpuichhip, 51 Km from Aizawl City.
